#greenwashing , as it is referred to on the IEBS website, is a company's attempt to make its products appear green when in fact they are not .
Sometimes, they add, they take advantage of certain buzzwords that they replicate in their ads and labels: sustainable, ecological and natural, are some of them.

42% of companies that do 'greenwashing' point out, the corresponding claims were exaggerated, false or misleading, and could be considered unfair commercial practices under EU rules.
